I have been experiencing a problem with some S60 Nokias, in particular the 6500c & 6300. Basically the browser is not displaying some gif images and I really can't seem to put my finger on why. I either create the gifs using Fireworks or Photoshop but it seems to make no difference. Some do work though strangely!

This also effects animated gifs.

Has anyone else experienced this and has any suggestions or solutions?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Justin,
any chance we can see these images? If you had a public page where these images are stored, we might give it a look. My be some header issue (and that would be easy to solve) or how the file is generated (harder to track).

Also, I assume you have tested those two devices on TA-DA, did they display all the image tests?

Hey Andrea,

Yes, there are some older public sites that you can take a look at that are still showing the problem.

If you go to http://candyspace.mobi/edenlog on a 6300 or 6500c you will see that the top two gifs do not display and all the others underneath disply fine. They are all Fireworks gifs.

I initially thought that it was something to do with the way I was exporting some of the gifs from PSD's in Photoshop but have been playing with different options again today and they are still not displaying.

Yes, I have tested both these devices in ta-da andd everything worked fine.

Thanks for your help!

Justin

I've also encountered problems with gifs on s60... especially animated ones are broken when displayed. Did you find out what the problem was?
