hi

Currently we are generating xhtml files for mobile phones (gprs). iPhone/iPod Touch is getting popular and more and more are accessing our portal from iPod.
Are there any special tips to generate xhtml files that are friendly for iPhone and the ordinary mobile phones?

Mainly I would like to have that font size adjustment option for iPhone users. I don't want to make the html file very heavy as GPRS is way too slow in India :-(

Mahesh,

The iPhone browser is based on the same underlying technology as the Symbian S60 browser - WebKit. Because of this, anything that works on the Nokia browser will work well on iPhone also. That said, because the iPhone is such a popular mobile browsing platform it may make sense to build a custom template for it, as we have done in find.mobi . Apple has given the iPhone version of the Webkit browser some addition CSS capabilities that can make the interface visually more appealing, without any byte-size penalty. You can find out more about how we did it here.

Hi all, new to the forum, and looking to learn how to put together a decent .mobi site.

Just paid £50 to a guy in the USA who had the matching .mobi to my current .co.uk, well worth grabbing it now, as who knows how web access will develop over the next few years.

Anyway, as a starting point, could anyone point me to some decent XHMTL .mobi ready layouts best suited to Dreamweaver?

Cheers,
