Hi,

I want to know how to determine if a particular UA is not recognised by DeviceAtlas? What does API will return if it couldnot find properties for a given UA. I there any set of default properties that will be returned even if a particular UA is not recognised? if so, can you list all those propeties. and if you can list some userAgents which can not be recognised by DeviceAtlas will be helpful for testing...

Thanks,
Vijay

Hi Vijay,

A list of DeviceAtlas properties can be found here:
http://deviceatlas.com/properties

If a user-agent is not recognised as a mobile device the device id "nid" property will not be returned. There is one caveat, if we detect that the UA is a desktop browser/crawler/bot then we will flag it as such but there will still be no nid property. These properties can be found in the virtual properties on the above page.

so in pseudo code:

if nid is not set
AND isBrowser is not set
AND isChecker is not set
AND isDownloader is not set
AND isFilter is not set
AND isRobot is not set
AND isSpam is not set
AND isFeedReader is not set

THEN the user-agent is not recognised.

Best regards,
Hamish
