Hey all. I've come across a little bit of "confuddlement". Basically, I have a device that is being picked up as the incorrect device. I need to report this to someone / DeviceAtlas.
I'm just a little confused as to the process used when adding a new device, updating one. I've taken the device in question through the ta-da.mobi system, and have tested the device. Does this mean that the device's data will appear in the next update?
Or does it need to first be approved by the community/DA developers in order to be included?
Some sort of clarity on this inclusion process would really be appreciated.
Cheers,
Geoff

Might I just add that the device is definitely being picked up incorrectly -- I viewed the UAProf RDF data supplied by the device, and the screen resolutions differ, as well as the model name.
The specific device in question is the Motorola RAZR2 V8 (DA device) versus the Motorola RAZR V8 (my device).

Hey Geoff,
Thanks for posting about this. Because of the nature of TA-DA, every test submission is (currently) vetted before being added to our main list of data sources. In practice, this is almost always done within a few hours of the submission and the data generally gets pushed out in the next day's JSON file.
I'm having difficulty locating information for the RAZR V8 - are you sure they aren't the same device?
Thanks,

Hey Daniel. Thanks for the response.
They're definitely not the same device. The V8 has a width of 240 pixels, not 320.
If it helps (and I'm sure it will), this is the URL to the RDF file: http://motorola.handango.com/phoneconfig/motorazrv8/Profile/motorazrv8.rdf.
Perhaps you would like to compare the two?

Now how come I couldn't find anything like that?! :/
Thanks for completing the TA-DA session - it makes things a lot easier for me - it would've been nice if you completed the multimedia tests though ;)
I'll map your TA-DA session to the correct device, and that should make things work fine for you after I've done a bit of house-cleaning tomorrow morning!

Awesome. Glad to be of service :D
Sorry about not completing the multimedia sections. It was alerted to me at work, and I didn't have the time to go through them all.
As soon as I can get my hands on it again tomorrow, I'll give it another run through, and go through all the multimedia tests.
