Hello,
I have a user who is on a Vodafone 845 (Huawei v845), Android 2.1 and his phone isn't being recognized. When he tested his device in ta-da.mobi, he got the following results:
Vendor
Model
Screen Width
Screen Height
(all blank)
Now this particular model phone is in DA, but the user agent header that is sent by his device is slightly different than what is recorded in device atlas for that phone and I'm wondering if the slight difference below would cause DA not to recognize his screen width?
Notice the differences in bold
Here's his user agent header:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-gb; Vodafone 845 Build/B220) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
Here's the one that's in DA:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1;en-us; Vodafone 845 Build/B233) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
Please note that I'm using the latest api with the latest json file.

Are you sure that you're running the very latest API?
Daniel HuntWe recently released the 1.4 API which caters for this exact issue with Android UA strings!

Hi there,
I'm having a similar problem, while using the 1.4.1 API. My phone is the Samsung GT-I5800, which my script correctly reports as such, but the Ta-da demo says it's the I5503.
However, Ta-da does give a correct header, with the right model, GT-I5800.
Strange, no?
You folks have made a brave effort, developing this API and I applaud you, but it seems to me that this mobi thing is like evolutionary biology: a new species is viable only when it's perfect.
thanks

Any chance you could let me know what UA you're using on the device that's causing this confusion?
You can visit http://logme.mobi to get it yourself, or submit a new TA-DA test session on http://ta-da.mobi
Cheers,

Hi,
logme.mobi does this:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; nl-nl; GT-I5800 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
ta-da.mobi does this:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; nl-nl; GT-I5800 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
ta-da.mobi reports the device as the I5503 and at the bottom of the page there is the user agent header with the bold face portion (which is the same for both models, as you can see).
thanks
