Hi everybody.

I have to build a .mobi site for a customer who wants to provide location based content (such as nearby restaurant…). I was wondering if there are any best practices for showing this kind of information as I'm quite new with .mobi.

Thanks.

Hi,

In order to display location-based content you need to integrate both thematic and spacial relevance. The presentation of this context-aware information could be done through simple text list, but sometimes you need to use some images (for example Maps).

It is not recommended to use only maps as it is very difficult for users to interact with them through a mobile web browser (especially if they are not using a touchscreen).

So, a good solution to show location based content is to use a simple text list (with nearer items first) giving the possibility to show the single item on a map through a link.

Here there is also another topic about using maps on mobile.

Hope this was helpful.
