Hi Everybody-
I'm looking for some advice on how to display an address on a map. I've tried Google Maps, Microsoft MapPoint, Yahoo, and even MapQuest. I'm able to get things to work on the desktop (e.g. where I build a URL with location data), but not through a mobile browser. Can anyone recommend a map service that works on a mobile?
Cheers
Frank

Hi Frank,
Are you trying to display a map for a certain address? I might be able to help.
Thanks,

Try the Yahoo Maps Image API

Landmarks is quite a nice feature that allows you to launch the embedded map application from the browser. It is really easy to add to a web site (check http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/technologies/location_based_services/S60_location_technologies.html)
Well the big drawback is that it works only with some phones (like Nokia's N95, E90, 6110 Navigator...)
You still need another solution for the rest of the mobiles.
Yahoo is free and straighforward, but for non-commercial purpose.
For commercial purpose, you can also consider company like Multimap using their static map API. http://www.multimap.com/apidocs/1.2/web_service/staticmaps.htm
Maporama seems to have a good offer as well (e.g. http://wireless.maporama.com/)

J2M3 I did get the maps working on my site.... www.mestate.mobi not sure if the following is what you are looking for or matches your complience.
Here is an exmaple of the link to bring in the map. My program creates the link for all the addresses and then brings up the mobile gmaps page.

Something that might have gone unnoticed is that Google released a "static" version of their maps API. This way you can get an image that you can most likely show easily in a mobile browser.
Here's a link from Google Operating System, API for Static Maps.

Is there any update to this? From what i can see, the best way forward is to use the Google API Static maps posted by Andrea Trasatti.
If anyone has an update, please let me know.

I would certainly use the Google Static Maps API - it's a piece of cake to use too.
