The Wholesale Applications Community (WAC) is a global cross Industry alliance which will provide a "one stop" service platform that allows developers to distribute their "apps" to a large number of application stores from a single point of entry. This platform will provide app signing, testing and settlement processes for the developer. WAC will act as a facilitator to enable developers to charge and be paid for consumed applications (price and terms to be based on a storefronts' business model). Apps will be based on standard technologies to ensure that they are available on a wide variety of devices. Furthermore, APIs which allow the apps to access device and network capabilities will be made available.
