Is it possible to get a list of device properties using just a vendor and model?

If this is not possible then at least it would be nice to be able to get a user-agent for a given vendor model combination.

The reason I ask is that when one would like to offer the user the opportunity to change there handset from what was auto detected(auto detection may be wrong) it would require the user to select their handsets vendor and then the make, once they have done that DA should be able to give back all that handsets details based on the vendor make combination.

Along this point is it possible to get a list of vendors and a list of makes from DA for the user to choose from?

I think this would make a great tutorial if it's possible

It seems that http://www.handsetdetection.com/ does all of this very nicely, but I would prefer to use DA as I allows me to host the .json file.

Hi there, I'm afraid this isn't possible right now. All the data we store is keyed based on the User-agent, and DeviceAtlas doesn't have another way to access the information.

Thanks that clears things up.
I guess it would be a bit easier if the data was in xml then I could do a xpath query.
Are there any plans to add this functionality to the api? This would allow DA to compete with other services that do support this.
Maybe have a mapping array that the api could use.

We do actually have an xml output for DeviceAtlas, but it's only available on our Enterprise Licence offering.
If you're interested in hearing more about it, let me know, but otherwise I'm afraid you'll just have to make do with the super-fast, super-awesome APIs that we already have ;)
