You can get the IMEI via J2ME in some phones only. Some examples would be:

    System.getProperty("phone.imei");
    System.getProperty("com.nokia.IMEI");        //Nokia
    System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.imei");    //Nokia
    System.getProperty("com.samsung.imei");      //Samsung
    System.getProperty("com.sonyericsson.imei"); //Sonyericsson
    System.getProperty("com.siemens.IMEI");     //Siemens
    System.getProperty("IMEI");                  //Motorola
    System.getProperty("com.motorola.IMEI");     //Motorola

hi,

i am not doing a j2me application , its a java/jsp application and a wurfl.xml file is used to detect device capabilities. so i think, these properties willnot be helpful to detect mobile identity.

is it possible to capture mobile number using 'x-up-calling-line-id ' header from the request ?

Any other methods available? pls tell me.

thanks in advance.

Hey Saji. If you take a look at http://mobiforge.com/forum/developing/mobile-web-development/retrieving-phone-number, you will see that the question about the retrieval of mobile numbers in a web application has already been answered.

Unless there is any more specific information that you were looking for?
