Hi James,
I have gone through most of the posts in this forum.
I successfully uploaded wordpress-mobile-pack plugin, which was seen in the wp-admin/plugins panel. I did not activate it since newer 1.1.1. was released immediately.
Exact Problem
On uploading new version 1.1.1. I am not able to see it on the wp-admin/plugins.php so I do not know how to activate.
FTP shows it is in the proper directory.
What I did
Before uploading I deleted earlier version.
However, I could not delete these folders
mobile_pack_base
mobile_pack_blue and
mobile_pack_red
They are located in the wordpress themes folder (not the wordpress plugins folder).
I renamed the folders. Yet, I could not delete the folders.
Message:

My website details
I use plaintxtblog for
my site http://mydoctortells.com hosted on
linux server
PHP version5.2.5
MySQL version5.0.51a-community
What I want
How do I activate wordpress-mobile-pack.1.1.1 when it is not seen in wp-admin/plugins.php?
Your help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Ashok Koparday

I use WordPress 2.7

Hi Ashok
Where did you upload it to?
The WP2.7 plugin folder structure needs to look like this:
wordpress - wp-content - index.php - plugins - akismet - hello.php - wordpress-mobile-pack - COPYING - docs - ... - themes - ...Does that look familiar? Don't worry too much about the themes - if your web server had the permissions to put them there before, it should have the permissions to put (or overwrite) them there again!
It sounds like your FTP account may not be so privileged though - and I guess that is a consequence of your hosting environment.
Does the above tally with what you can see? If so, the plugin should *definitely* appear in the list.
