I launched a new mobile site for my work site recently (check it out at http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/mobile/), which is still a work in progress. I've been having a look at the Google Analytics visitor data and I'm amazed at the average visit lengths of our users. The site's average visit time is 00:24:23! The main site has an average visit time of 00:05:22.

I'm guessing that our mobile users are trapped on public transport or similar, and want to read something while they're there. The traffic is dominated by iPhone users who stick around for 30 minutes on average, which means some of them are there far longer. Android users stick around for 27 minutes on average.

I'd be interested to hear how these compare to metrics recorded on other sites.
