Are there web hosting companies that specialize in mobile sites?

Are some web hosting companies faster or more efficient, thus better for mobile sites?

I have never had a website before. I was just looking over hostgator.com. I need a way to test my mobile site when I get it together.

Thanks.

@webvoice -
UNITY Mobile (unitymobile.com) and simplemobileweb.com are both based on a comprehensive mobile platform, 100% hosted service that includes support for audio and video transcoding for all device classes. There is no bandwidth or page view limitation on the content. The costs for rich media are minimal, you pay for what you convert, not what you serve.

@newmica
UNITY mobile platform is integrated directly into the Aplus.net ISP control panel, so you could host a standard website and get a mobile optimized site as well, using the same hoster and familiar control panel.

UNITY Mobile is also available through the Parallels / Plesk Panel environments, so do ask your hosting provider to add this application!

Check UNITY mobile out, it's really powerful and rather affordable. Support for rich media, RSS/Atom feeds, automatic device detection, publishing of mobile apps, QR codes, distribution through SMS and email, full analytics and tracking, the real deal.

I use host gator for hosting my domains/sites. I highly recommend using them for all your web hosting applications. I think that the theme type is the next important step to take when setting up a new site for mobile use/access. There are plenty of free themes designed for mobile use, using word press. You can troll through all the theme apps to find one that suit your needs. Obviously you will need to type in "mobile apps themes" in the search bar or something to that extent. Also there are free wordpress plugins to aid you for SEO, for your site and to help your pages to load more quickly.

Hi yes and I'm using the plug-in called WPtouch, A plugin which formats your site with a mobile theme for visitors on Apple iPhone / iPod touch, Google Android, Blackberry Storm and Torch, Palm Pre and other touch-based smartphones. :)

Hi everybody,

First of all, merry xmas!

Wanna ask what's the recommended webhosting company (I mean more affordable) for mobile site? Hostgator i think is a little bit expensive.

Thanks.

The host for my web sites is Stores on Line out of Utah. Check them out. The cost is manageable. I hope it works for you.

Don't think you need special mobile hosting.
