I found this site watching Click on the BBC tonight.

I have very limited web design skill sets but I do design entry level websites and make a little coin doing it too but mainly I do it to productively balance out the non-productive time playing PC games and if it brings in some money- it keeps the wife from nagging me for spending too much time on the computer :P

It never crossed my mind that mobile web design existed; I had just assumed that is scaled automatically to the mobile devices. So now I am intrigued and have a few questions. And please forgive my ignorance:I am an old dog trying to learn new tricks :)

1- Is there a big demand for mobile devise web design?
2- Are there any free templates I can play with?
3- Can I design this on my Dreamweaver 8 or is there other software better suited for this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Spooky, welcome!

Sounds like you have a good system ;-)

To answer your questions:

1. This is a growing demand for mobile web design, and you will certainly see more and more web design & development companies advertising their mobile design & development services. This trend will continue as more businesses create a mobile presence for themselves.

2. We offer some free mobile templates on this site here. They are basic enough, but should get you moving in the right direction.

We also have some mobile 'switcher' icons that you can use to link to a mobile version of a site (here).

3. You probably can use Dreamwever for this - I know Dreamweaver has page templates for different mobile markup templates (e.g. XHTML Mobile Profile), so give it a go :-)
