Getting started with J2ME

Verizon Wireless Opens Up

In a truly positive move by the largest US operator, Verizon Wireless has opened its arms and embraced the developer community. Some of the things they are doing include exposing the core assets of their platform, such as billing, location and messaging. Ron Mandel has all the details of this new initiative. Great news for developers everywhere and hopefully other operators will follow suit.

Also updated today, our mobile-readiness testing tool mobiReady has had a makeover. Most significantly you can now post markup directly to the service. This should help in cases where you don't have your site on a live or public server. Other updates include:

  • Interface clean-up
  • Improved ease-of-use site testing capability
  • Display of HTTP response headers along with test results
