Hi app developers,

I wanted to let you know about the new AT&T Application Resource Optimizer (ARO), a free tool that could help you significantly improve your application’s responsiveness on all wireless carriers. ARO profiles your application and suggests specific solutions to help optimize performance, speed, network impact, and battery utilization. Try it for yourself here: http://developer.att.com/ARO

I've got a mobile friendly website built on the jquery mobile framework. I'd like to have a downloadable icon that can link directly to the site. Is it possible to get this into the app store and the android market?

I know a user can just bookmark the site once they're on it, but this would make the site that much more accessible to users if it were in the stores.

Thanks

If you are in the business of developing mobile applications such as iPhone applications, BlackBerry applications or Android applications, then you must definitely want to ensure that the application development is successful. But, success doesn’t just depend on the development of a highly efficient app that is completely free from errors. Its popularity also stems from the fact that it is marketed properly. If the company that is behind the app or the one that is releasing it is not too concerned about the way the app is being marketed, there is a good chance that the app won’t succeed.

I'm looking for information about how to make a site mobile friendly in the best possible way. At the very least, it's past time that I learned to make a good mobile stylesheet!

I have questions and hunches to go with my lack of experience.

- Page load should be fast -- how lightweight is light enough?

- Relative widths (100%) or pixels?
- Are certain things more likely to give wonky results - floats, margins, whatever?

- How different are the various mobile browsers?
- How many of them are there that I should be testing for?
