Indian Cellular Association president Pankaj Mohindroo points out that of the seven-eight million handsets sold in the country every month, over four million are internet-enabled. “Aggressive marketing by operators, combined with the fact that half the handsets sold in the country are net-enabled, has led to this paradigm shift (of mobile phones being the primary device for accessing the internet).”
