You can probably guess by the version number 2.1.1 (from 2.1), there is nothing ground-breaking in this release. Just a few more bug fixes. In particular we have fixed a bug that caused the use of multiple
tags in your markup to reduce your overall score. This was happening because the hr
element wasn’t being recognised as an XHTML element, and we try to make a determination on whether you are actually trying to using XHTML by using the correct tags, or if you are simply slapping the correct DOCTYPE into the top of your page and hoping for the best. Anyway, thanks Scandiman for your feedback on this.
We have also updated the Tables for layout test. This test tries to determine if you have been using tables as a means to layout your page. Tables are OK of course, but should generally only be used to present tabular data, rather than for page layout. Previously ready.mobi failed this test for all 1×1 images, which are commonly used for tracking purposes.
You may also have noticed in this version the new nav-bar across the top of the ready.mobi page (and of course mobiForge, and the other dotMobi sites). The dotMobi family of services is growing, and this will help you join the dots between our initiatives.
Well, like I said, it’s only a minor release (and work continues on our Web API release) but all feedback is very welcome.
